Vacancy Announcement: Assistant Accountant

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payment transactions.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely and accurate payments and collections.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for management review.
  • Enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets with precision.
  • Monitor and track company expenses, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with policies.
  • Provide necessary documentation and information during internal and external audits.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualifications:
    • Relevant accounting qualification or degree in Finance/Accounting.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years, preferably in Import and Trading sectors.
    • At least 2 years of experience in an audit firm.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Familiarity with Import costing/Stock valuation (advantage).
    • Experience with ERP systems or accounting packages.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel.
    • Fluency in English and Sinhala (Tamil is an advantage).
