Position 1: Works Engineer (Civil) Grade III
Position 2: Personal Secretary to Chairman/UGC
Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka
Organization: University Grants Commission (UGC)

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the following positions at the UGC Secretariat:

1. Works Engineer (Civil) Grade III

Qualifications:

• Option A: B.Sc. Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university and registered as an Associate Engineer or above at the Engineering Council of Sri Lanka (ECSL).
• Option B: Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BET) in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology with at least two years of experience and registered as an Affiliate Engineer or above at ECSL.
• Option C: National Diploma in Technology in Civil Engineering with at least seven years of experience in a recognized establishment.

Selection Criteria:

• Structured interview.
• Applicants scoring above 40% in the interview will be considered based on merit.

2. Personal Secretary to Chairman/UGC

Qualifications:

• Option A: Degree from a recognized university with at least three years of relevant experience.
• Option B: Two-year Diploma in Secretarial Practice or equivalent with at least five years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in computer applications and excellent secretarial skills in English and Sinhala/Tamil.

Selection Criteria:

• Written test covering IT skills, stenography, communication, and public relations skills.
• Candidates scoring above 60% in the written test will be called for a structured interview.

General Conditions:

• Salary Scale: P.E.S.1 (II) – Rs. 58,425 – 13 x 1,540 – 77,359
• Benefits: Provident Fund, Employees Trust Fund, and other government-approved allowances.
