Recruitment for the Post of Telecommunication Officer – Grade II (External)

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the vacancies for the post of Telecommunication Officer – Grade II.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintenance of measuring and testing equipment.
Conducting technical standards and compliance tests.
Performing interference measurement, field strength, and power evaluations.
Carrying out technical investigations and preparing reports.
Providing technical assistance in the procurement of equipment and other related activities.
Supporting the management in executing TRCSL’s regulatory functions.

Minimum Educational & Professional Qualifications:

A Diploma or higher qualification (not below NVQ Level 5 or SLQF Level 3) or an NDT from the University of Moratuwa or an equivalent qualification in Electronics or Telecommunications.
Qualification must be conferred by a University recognized by the University Grants Commission or an Institute of Technological Training approved by TRCSL.
Three (03) years of post-qualifying experience in the telecommunications field.

Recruitment Process:

Selection will be based on a written competitive examination followed by a structured interview. Appointments will be made strictly on merit, based on aggregated marks obtained in:

Subject Knowledge Relevant to the Post

Salary Scale:

TRC 5.2 Salary Scale: Rs. 62,560 – 132,940.
Increment Structure: (10 x Rs. 1,173) – (10 x Rs. 1,564) – (10 x Rs. 1,955) – (10 x Rs. 2,346).
All new appointees will start at the initial step of the salary scale for Grade II.

Age Limit:

Applicants must be between 18 to 45 years as of the closing date of applications.
