The Institute of Human Resource Advancement (IHRA), affiliated with the University of Colombo, is a leading institution offering postgraduate, undergraduate, diploma, and certificate programs. IHRA is dedicated to academic excellence, research, and consultancy services, catering primarily to working professionals in both public and private sectors.

Job Objective:
We are seeking a visionary and dynamic individual to serve as the Director of IHRA. The Director will be the academic and administrative head of the institute, responsible for providing leadership, maintaining transparency, and fostering collaborations with universities, industries, and international institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Academic and Administrative Head of IHRA.
  • Act as the Accounting Officer and Chairperson of the Board of Management.
  • Maintain discipline and ensure transparency and accountability within the institute.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve the institute’s goals.
  • Foster collaborations with universities, industries, and international academic institutions.
  • Generate funds and enhance the institute’s research and consultancy services.
  • Provide academic leadership and oversee the delivery of degree, diploma, and certificate programs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Sri Lankan citizenship.
  • Age: Less than 63 years by the application closing date.
  • A distinguished academic background with a strong research publication profile.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • A clear understanding of policy issues in higher education.
  • Visionary thinking and managerial brilliance to drive the institute’s growth.

Tenure and Salary:

  • The appointment is for a three-year term or until the age of 65, whichever comes first.
  • The Director will receive a salary equivalent to that of a Professor, along with other applicable allowances.

  1. A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) including date of birth (attach a certified copy of the birth certificate).
  2. A statement of vision for the development of IHRA.
  3. A brief account of proposed achievements if appointed as Director.
  4. For current or former Directors, a report highlighting accomplishments during their tenure.
  5. For public sector employees, a letter from the employer confirming release if appointed.
