Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all industrial relations activities, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Act as a liaison between management and employees to resolve disputes, grievances, and workplace concerns.
  • Facilitate communication to build a harmonious working environment.
  • Promote transparency and fairness within the organization.
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts professionally.
  • Prevent disputes by addressing issues proactively.
  • Provide legal support in labor disputes, employee contracts, and negotiations.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with trade unions and employee representatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key entities such as BOI regulators, the Labor Department, and the Employee Federation of Ceylon (EFC).

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human ResourcesBusiness Administration, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications in Industrial Relations or Labor Law are an advantage.
  • Experience3–5 years in industrial relations or human resources, with a proven track record in managing employee relations and union negotiations.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Sri Lankan labor laws, industrial relations practices, and collective bargaining processes.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to handle complex employee relations issues effectively.
