Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all industrial relations activities, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
- Act as a liaison between management and employees to resolve disputes, grievances, and workplace concerns.
- Facilitate communication to build a harmonious working environment.
- Promote transparency and fairness within the organization.
- Mediate and resolve conflicts professionally.
- Prevent disputes by addressing issues proactively.
- Provide legal support in labor disputes, employee contracts, and negotiations.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with trade unions and employee representatives.
- Maintain strong relationships with key entities such as BOI regulators, the Labor Department, and the Employee Federation of Ceylon (EFC).
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications in Industrial Relations or Labor Law are an advantage.
- Experience: 3–5 years in industrial relations or human resources, with a proven track record in managing employee relations and union negotiations.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Sri Lankan labor laws, industrial relations practices, and collective bargaining processes.
- Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle complex employee relations issues effectively.
