Position: Assistant Manager – Trade Operations
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end processing of Letters of Credit (LCs) and Outward Telegraphic Transfers (OTTs), including reconciliation and reporting.
- Handle Trade Counter services, including Exports, Bank Guarantees, Import Bills, and SWIFT operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Verify and authorize SWIFT transactions.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international trade regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications:
- Full/part qualifications in Banking and Finance or a Diploma in International Trade Finance from IBSL or a recognized institution.
- Possession of a Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialist (an added advantage).
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of work experience in Trade Operations within a banking context.
Skills & Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of issuing and managing Documentary Credits, bill examination, settlement, and associated SWIFT correspondence.
- Experience with import-related OTTs and corresponding communication, including managing foreign bank charges.
- Knowledge of documentary collections, shipping guarantees, and Airway Bill endorsements.
- Well-versed in UCP 600, URC 522, Incoterms 2020, URR 725, Foreign Exchange Act, and local import/export regulations.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
