Opportunity for Freelance Announcers
The Development Lotteries Board invites applications from freelance announcers (both experienced and apprentices) aged below 30 years to carry out announcing duties (Sinhala/Tamil) for television programs related to lottery draws.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Education:
- Passed G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination with at least six subjects, including a credit pass in a language subject.
- Additional Qualification: Passing the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination will be an added advantage.
- Language Skills:
- Fluency in the preferred language for announcing is essential.
- Ability to announce in multiple languages is an added advantage.
- General Knowledge:
- Awareness of social, economic, political, and cultural affairs will be considered.
- Physical Requirements:
- Female announcers: Minimum height of 5 feet 2 inches.
- Male announcers: Minimum height of 5 feet 6 inches.
- Personality:
- Female announcers must possess a pleasant appearance.
- Male announcers must have a good personality.
- Availability:
- Must be available for night-time lottery draw programs held in Colombo.
Selection Process:
Candidates will be assessed through a practical announcing test, an interview, and a screen test.
Key Information:
- This is not a permanent or temporary position.
- An allowance will be provided for announcing services when required.
- Selected candidates will enter into an annual agreement with the Development Lotteries Board, agreeing to specified terms and conditions.
