The Bhikkhu University of Sri Lanka invites applications from qualified candidates for the prestigious Registrar position (UGC Circular No. 945/03/2024).

Key Qualifications Required:

Option 1:

  • PhD in Administration/Management +

  • 10+ years admin experience post-first degree

Option 2:

  • Master’s in Administration/Management (2-year program) +

  • 12+ years admin experience post-first degree

Option 3:

  • Current Deputy Registrar/Secretary with:

    • 3+ years service in position +

    • Master’s/PhD +

    • 14-18 years total experience

Additional Requirements:

  • First/Second Class Degree from recognized university

  • Administrative experience must be in general administration (not technical fields)

  • For Buddhists only (as per University Act No. 26 of 1996)


Salary & Benefits Package:

  • Salary Scale: Rs. 181,730 – 246,789/month (U.EX 310)

  • Allowances:

    • Cost of Living: Rs. 17,800

    • Monthly Compensation: 30% of basic

    • Research/Entertainment allowances

  • Additional Perks:

    • Official vehicle with fuel allowance

    • University housing (as per UGC Code)

    • Provident Fund: 10% employee + 15% university contribution

    • ETF: 3% university contribution
