Position: Officer – Foreign Currency Banking Unit (FCBU)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Support:
    • Handle daily departmental tasks and address customer queries related to FCBU operations.
    • Coordinate with Corporate Banking and Treasury departments for smooth transaction processing.
  • Transaction Processing:
    • Check balances and approvals before processing outward remittances.
    • Verify applications for discrepancies, including date, signature, currency type, and Harmonized System (HS) code.
    • Process Telegraphic Transfers (TT), including endorsements and addressing discrepancies.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports, including export proceeds, inflow/outflow statements, maturity analysis, FIU reports, and quarterly financial reports.
  • Account Reconciliation and Fund Transfers:
    • Reconcile month-end Foreign Bill Purchase (FBP) and Foreign Bill Collection (FBC).
    • Pass charge entries to Nostro Accounts for reconciliation purposes.
    • Perform fund transfers, issue drafts for indirect exporters, and open FCBU accounts on the system.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking, with at least 3 years in branch operations.
  • Full or part qualification in Banking/Finance.
  • Proven expertise in foreign currency banking operations.
  • Strong commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
