Manager – Internal Audit Department
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and minimize risks by analyzing and reporting on the effectiveness of the Bank’s internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory mandates through comprehensive assessments.
- Update and enhance audit programs to incorporate new or revised internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee branch and departmental audits, conduct special audits, investigations, and pre-development system tests.
- Continuously improve audit processes and ensure adaptability to evolving requirements.
- Supervise and assess processes and controls to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data.
- Collaborate with line management during and after audits to enhance efficacy and ensure timely communication with the Head of Audit on completed and follow-up reports.
- Conduct audits in specialized areas such as Treasury, Risk, and Impairment Provisioning.
- Assist the Board Audit Committee in achieving its objectives as outlined in its charter.
Experience & Qualifications:
- A degree from an accredited university or partial qualification from a recognized professional body in Accounting or Banking.
- Associate membership in a reputed accounting body (CA/CIMA/ACCA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of three years of audit experience in the financial sector, though experience in external audits of banks will also be considered.
- Expertise in audit planning, risk-based audit execution, report revisions, program formulation, and team organization.
- Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English, alongside excellent interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative and proactive mindset to guide and support the organization in achieving business objectives through effective controls and risk management.
